Arivihan: AI-Enhanced Video Transcription and Enrichment Pipeline
About the Company
Arivihan is an EdTech platform serving students preparing for JEE and NEET. Its growing library of recorded lectures helps students across India, including those in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, access learning resources beyond the classroom.
As its content library and student base expanded, Arivihan needed to make lectures easier to process, search, and access, especially during the high-demand weeks before exams.
Challenges
- Manual transcription was slow and resource-intensive, delaying access to lecture transcripts.
- General-purpose transcription tools struggled with scientific terms, formulas, and subject-specific vocabulary.
- Peak exam-season traffic caused slower page loads and video buffering.
- Arivihan needed to provide secure access to paid video content for verified students.
- The growing platform required infrastructure that could scale without frequent manual intervention.
Solutions
- AceCloud worked with Arivihan to build an automated, cloud-native video processing and delivery pipeline on AWS.
- Automated video processing: Amazon S3 stores uploaded videos. Amazon SQS and AWS Lambda trigger and coordinate the processing workflow.
- Hybrid transcription: Amazon Transcribe creates an initial transcript. Whisper inference on Amazon EKS provides a second pass to improve accuracy for technical academic content.
- Searchable transcripts: Amazon DynamoDB stores enriched transcripts so students can search lecture content and find relevant sections.
- Secure video delivery: Amazon CloudFront distributes videos using signed URLs, helping restrict access to authenticated students.
- Contextual learning support: Amazon SageMaker adds tags, highlights, and learning insights to make transcripts more useful for study.
- Independent scaling: Separate processing services for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology scale according to their individual workloads.
- Governed infrastructure: AWS Control Tower and AWS Organizations support account-level governance. Terraform manages infrastructure changes through peer-reviewed workflows.
- Safer releases: Blue/green deployments, health checks, and automatic rollback help reduce release risk.
- Monitoring and recovery: Amazon CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail provide monitoring and audit records. Terraform supports rebuilding the environment in another AWS Region.
- Cost management: Spot Instances reduce inference costs, while Amazon S3 lifecycle policies move older content to lower-cost storage tiers.
